Aviation

This category contains documentaries and video materials that focus on the various types of aircrafts and aircraft related stories. Learn about their history, development through time and also their success and failure stories capable of inspiring, causing fear and, above all, admiration for these machines and people that stand behind them.

Many ages ago, humans first gazed upon the skies and noticed that it was the domain ruled by a peculiar kind of creatures. The thing that they all had in common, we noticed, were the things giving them the ability to elevate themselves, a pair of wings. Our fascination with the ability to fly has set us on a path of discovery of the scientific principles behind it, and it fueled our ever growing desire to master that ability ourselves.

That resulted in the birth of a specific branch of science or art, if you will, dealing with the study, design and manufacturing of air flight capable machines, and the techniques of operating them called aeronautics. Aviation is nothing more than putting in practice the principals of aeronautics.

Enjoy the materials that we provided for you and discover a range of outcomes from constructing, operating, exploiting and even abusing the extraordinary abilities that these marvelous machines provide.

You will discover a wide specter of incredible stories from the airplanes being used to release chemicals into the atmosphere and altering the weather, to the spectacular maneuver of the airplane on Air Transat flight 236, preventing an enormous tragedy. Watch the documentary on an aviation gem called the Boeing, and learn about its history, development and gain profound knowledge on the topic through inspection of never before seen footage. Further on, see what happens when a fatal maintenance error occurs and because of it, a cockpit window falls out of place at an altitude of 30, 000 feet.

Bare witness the incredible stories of the heroes and the villains of the skies. Find out what key roles the airplanes have had since the very first ones took off to the vast spaces above us. Discover the extraordinary stories of the people responsible for the breakthroughs in the relevant fields of science and improving the overall safety and the quality of the flights.
