‘Super Size Me’ is an entertaining and interesting documentary directed and acted in by Morgan Spurlock, this documentary being his debut film.
He carries out an experiment on himself to highlight American culture’s disturbing trend towards obesity; he eats three McDonalds meals a day every day for 30 consecutive days, provides an amusing and occasionally disturbing account that provides a lot of information and keeps the audience gripped.
In this film Spurlock manages to maintain a fine balance between humor, shock and entertainment without being too judgmental.
The editing and the quality of interviews more than make up for the amateur voice-overs.
