The Ellora Caves are well-known for its largest single monolithic excavation in the world, the Great Kailasa Temple. The temple is one of the largest Indian rock-cut ancient Hindu temples located in India.

The megalith carved out of one single rock, it is considered one of the most remarkable cave temples in the world because of its size, sculptural treatment, and architecture.

The freestanding, multi-storied temple complex is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Why it is considered alien technology? Simple, because in modern terms, it would take around 200 days, working at 24 hours per day, to excavate the entire site using contemporary technology. It is unknown how the caves were made.

Kailasa Temple is one of the 34 caves in the area. They date as back as 300 BC.
