“Yukon, the wild quest ” or the passion for the origins of humankind

Yukon is the smallest and westernmost of Canada’s three federal territories. The territory is as large as Spain, but it is not populated. It has the smallest population of any province of any territory in Canada, with just 35,874 citizens.

What makes Yukon special is not the big territory, the small population, or anything else. It is the history of it. Its history of human habitation dates back to the Ice Age, as scientists believe the original inhabitants arrived 20,000 years ago by migrating over land bridge from Asia.

Kim Parche, a man driven by archeology, left his home in Switzerland to explore barefoot the heart of Canada’s north. The quest to find the origins of mankind has driven him since his childhood.

This documentary shows his quest to finding artifacts and everyday gestures that discover the secrets of Yukon.
