When a bicycle craze swept across Europe back in the late 19th century, British people decided to stick a motor on the wheels and see what happened. The rest is history.

The British love of fast, daring, and reckless motorbikes is well-known. They were the envy of the world early in the 20th century. From the 1920s until the 1950s, motorbikes represented unparalleled style and excitement. Many riders indulged their passion for brands like Brough Superior, Norton, and Triumph.

During the 1950s and 1960s, the motorcycle industry was the third largest earner for Britain after cars and whisky. They had unrivaled reputation worldwide, and the classic designs became part of the cultural history. During World War II, motorbikes played a key role.
