D-Day in Colour

There have been so many different documentaries focusing on DDay, one of the most important days in World War II history. The day in question is June 6th, 1944. This was the launch day of Operation Overlord, and the battle that began the liberation of Europe.

Some would say that DDay was the beginning of the end of the World War II. During the operation, Allied forces landed in Normandy, and from there marched towards Germany.

But one thing we’ve rarely seen is the battle in color. Nearly all documentaries featuring DDay are in black and white. And it is understandable, as color television came just four year earlier. Most households had no color television.

The documentary takes an in-depth look at events that started the liberation of Europe, but in color, making the experience better and more vivid. Relieve the events of the perilous days and reflect on the tragedies and triumphs of individuals during one of the most important dates in war history.
