Aaron Swartz stood up for freedom and fairness, and paid the ultimate price for his combination of genius and conscience. He was an American computer programmer, writer, political organizer, Internet hacktivist, and an entrepreneur.
Most people know Swartz as one of the developers of the basic internet protocol RSS and his co-founding of Reddit. But his fingerprints are all over the internet.
However, after successfully founding companies, Aaron decided to focus on work in social justice and political organization. His aggressive approach to information access cost him his life. He was trapped in a two-year legal nightmare, and the battle ended with him committing suicide at the age of just 26 years old.
The story follows his life, and his battle with authorities in his later life. The documentary will touch all people, no matter whether they are part of the online and internet community or not. Aaron stood for more than just online freedom, he stood for fairness. He led a brilliant life which ended with a tragic death.
