This is the extraordinary story of Britain’s fastest growing religious group, Wicca, and its creator, the eccentric Gerald Gardner. Many know him by the craft name Scire, an English Wiccan. He was an author and amateur anthropologist and archeologist.

Wicca is a modern pagan religion created in the middle 1900s by Gardner. Scholars of religion categorize it as a new religious movement and as part of the occultist stream of Western esotericism.

Wicca draws upon a diverse set of ancient pagan for its theological structure and rural practices. There is no central authority figure.

There are different variations of the core structure. Wicca grows and evolves over time.
