The War in Afghanistan lasted for more than 10 years. And it all started due as a response to the 9/11 attack on the United States.

The War, or the invasion of Afghanistan started on October 7, 2001, after several weeks of Afghanistan refusing to hand over Osama Bin Laden.

The West World believed that the country is a hideout for the Al-Qaeda leader who took responsibility for the 9/11 attack. The invasion started by the United States, but then it quickly formed into a coalition of over 40 countries, including NATO members.

The invasion lasted for several years, and after the initial invasion, the coalition installed a government and war zone in Afghanistan. It wasn’t until 2014 that the Afghan country took back government and military power.

In October 2014, the British forces handed over the last base in Helmand to the Afghan military, officially ending their combat operations in Afghanistan. On December 28, NATO formally ended ISAF combat operations, and officially transferred full security responsibility to the government of Afghanistan.
