Joseph Stalin was a Georgian revolutionary and Soviet politician. He ruled the Soviet Union from the mid-1920s until his death in 1953.

He came to power following the death of Vladimir Lenin, and became the dictator of the Soviet Union. Stalin used a combination of manipulation and terror to destroy his opposition.

He took military positions in the Russian Civil War and the Polish-Soviet War following the October Revolution.

His government promoted Marxism-Leninism abroad through the Communist International and supported European anti-fascist movement during the 1930s.

This documentary focuses on his rise to power, particularly how he enslaved rural Russia.
