His family lives in Oimjakon, a village in the Yakutia Republic in Russia, located 5100km east of Moscow. The village has 500 residents, and lies in a mountain valley on the upper reaches of the banks of the Indgirka River.
Because of the great distance of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the humidity that the Ocean provides, the temperature in the village can reach up to minus 54 degrees Celsius.
Kids in this village feel the grim cold before even going to school. On average, the temperature in the village is Minus 40 degrees Celsius in the winter.
On their way to school, kids walk 2 kilometers wearing clothes that will protect them from the icy temperature. They are seldom playful. Instead, they put all their focus on their way to school, and once they get there, they feel even colder.
