Harvey Milk - 1978 Interview

Harvey Bernard Milk was an American politician and the first openly gay elected official in the history of California. He was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. His history is widely known, as he was a gay rights activist until his assassination in 1978.

On May 22, Harvey Milk Foundation celebrates the Harvey Milk day in honor and memory of the great leader. Sean Penn won an Oscar in 2009 for his performance in the movie “Milk”. Harvey was also the inspiration for the LGBT flag of pride.

With that in mind, we want to give you an insight into his brain and thinking. This interview filmed in 1978 shows exactly what he stood for. One of his biggest legacy quotes is “Hope will never be silent”.
