Bitcoin and other crypto currencies are already part of the mainstream media. But they are far from being the dominant currency globally and internationally.

It is safe to say that 2017 was the year of the crypto currencies. Every currency went sky high. Bitcoin went from $1,000 in January to $16,000 in December. Etherium went from $8 in January to close to $900 in December, and now more than $1,000 in January. Other crypto currencies went up by more than 1000%, some even up by 10000%.

With that in mind, 2018 will be a crucial year for crypto currencies. While many financial experts are saying Bitcoin is a bubble, some experts believe that time show that crypto currencies and the blockchain will change the way we view money, and how we function.

Don Tapscott, a Canadian business executive and consultant specializing in business strategy and organizational transformation believes in the blockchain. In this TED talk, he tries to explain to the public how blockchain is changing money and business.

If you do not know what is the blockchain and how it works, this video will help you understand.
