Elvis Aaron Presley was an American singer and actor. Dubbed the "King of Rock and Roll", he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century.
On August 16, 1977, he was discovered dead in his Graceland mansion at the age of 42, found motionless on a bathroom floor by his then-21-year-old girlfriend, Ginger Alden.
This documentary takes a look at his last hours. Forensic pathologist Dr Richard Shepherd re-examines the medical evidence relating to Elvis Presley's death at his home in Graceland. He picks through the facts surrounding Elvis Presley's demise at his Memphis home in August 1977 at the age of 42. He hears testimony from the singer's childhood best friend, his cousin and his private nurse, as well as the medical facts from the autopsy report.
Elvis' post-mortem revealed that in the final years of his life, nearly all of Presley's vital organs had grown to twice the size they should have been. Additionally, his system was full of prescription drugs. Dr Shepherd examines how these and other factors occurred in Presley's life and later contributed to cardiac arrhythmia.
