The Democratic Republic of Congo is a country located in Central Africa. It is also known as DR Congo, East Congo, or Congo-Kinshasa. From 1971 to 1997, the country was called Zaire, and many still refer to the country using its former name.
Congo is located in the heart of Africa, but for many years, it was a problematic country for tourists. And that was all due to a civil war that led to loss of more than five million people between 1994 and 2003.
Even though the war is now over, there are still some areas plagued by violence. Various rebel groups continue to operate in Congo.
With that in mind, this documentary shows tourists what they can expect when they visit Congo. It is an amazing country. But to be safe, you have to go using a tour operator, because you never know what to expect.
