Benji is a 2012 narrative film about the short life and 1984 passing of Chicago South Side basketball player Ben Wilson who played for Simeon Career Academy. The film appeared at the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival on April 20, 2012. This screening was also the world premiere.

This film reports the November 1984 demise of Wilson, who was viewed as the best basketball player in the nation, yet the day preceding his senior season of secondary school basketball was to start he was gunned down over a previous dispute. The film archives the social expansive influences of his life and passing. It records the contemporaneous effect of the passing on those nearest to Wilson.

Billy Moore, the young fellow who committed this crime and ended Wilson`s life, likewise shows up in the film to give what he guaranteed was the first occasion when he got an opportunity to recount his side of the story. Other people who show up include Erica Murphy, who was companions with both Moore and Wilson and who was there when the shooting occurred; Sonny Vaccaro, who ran the camp where Wilson awed the spectators enough to be positioned top in the country; Wilson's siblings Curtis Glenn and Jeffrey Wilson, rapper Common and vocalist R. Kelly, both of whom grew up with Wilson, and numerous others.
