Benjamin Berell Ferencz, an American lawyer, he was an investigator of Nazi war crimes after World War II. Ben Ferencz served as the chief prosecutor for the United States army at one of the 12 military trials held by the US authorities in Nuremberg, Germany.
He later on became an advocate of the establishment of an international rule of law and of an International Criminal Court. From 1985 to 1996 he served as professor of international law at Pace University.
World War II and the Vietnam War left a lasting and defining impression on his life. After those two wars, he worked for the institution of an International Criminal Court, serving for issues of crimes against humanity and war crimes.Ferencz published a couple of books on the subject. In 2009, he was awarded the Erasmus Prize together with Antonio Cassese. The interview was filmed in 2017. He is still the last surviving prosecutor of the Nuremberg trials. As of March 2020, he is 100 years old.
