This documentary is concerned with the work of Pina Bausch. She was a leading dance figure and choreographer in the Tanztheater style. Unfortunately, she has passed during the filming. The filming continued and it was screened on the 61st International Film Festival in Berlin.

The director of this is documentary is Wim Wenders. After the tragic passing of Bausch, the director Wenders wanted to cancel the project, but he was persuaded to continue with his work by the rest of the dancers of Tanztheater Wuppertal. The documentary includes the interviews of the group in which they discuss and comment the life and work of Pina Bausch. It also shows the scenes from the following works:

- Kontakthof

- Le sacre du printemps

- Café Müller

- Vollmond

You will have a chance to see a number of locations around the city of Wuppertal and the choreographies that were performed at these sites. Enjoy the excerpts from some of the best works from this amazing performer.

During her lifetime she was recognized as an exceptional artist and was awarded, among others, the Kyoto Prize of Japan, the Laurence Olivier Award in the UK and the Goethe Prize. It is important to mention that the work of Pina Bausch influenced some of the world famous artists and performers such as David Bowie.

Pina Bausch died on 30 June 2009 at the age of 68 in Wuppertal, Germany.
