How can we make better cities? Greener cities? Better environment? The documentary “Nature of cities” follows a journey of an environmental professor, Timothy Beatley, as the professor takes on a journey through the Western World, showing examples of cities that have embraced the symbiotic relationship between man and nature.
Transforming our urban environment into a green environment is the challenge of the 21st century. With climatechange, more pollution and less green parts of the cities, it is crucial that we find a way to introduce more greenery into the cities.
The journey starts from Paris, where the professor explains a green wall of a building, with the façade made out of grass and plants. The professor even states that the attraction might be more interesting and more appealing than the Eiffel Tower.
The journey continues through Texas, Malmo (Sweden), San Diego (California), and much more. Today, the challenge is creating sustainable green environment, something that is becoming harder and harder to achieve. Take a look at some of the examples of cities succeeding in that aspect.
