What if the Neanderthal survived and the Human went extinct. Would then the planet be in better shape? Would the Neanderthal do so much damage to the Earth as we are doing?
Those are all questions worth asking. Sadly, we will never know the answer. The Neanderthals are an extinct species or subspecies of archaic humans in the genus Homo.
They lived within Eurasia from circa 400,000 until 40,000 years ago. Modern humans reached Europe between 45,000 and 43,000 years ago according to science. That means that the modern humans and Neanderthals overlapped in Europe for between 2,500 to 5,400 years.
With that in mind, this documentary explores the last living examples of the Neanderthals. And how are we connected.
