Finland’s education system is widely regarded as one of the best of the world. The country has the unofficial title for best education system. Many countries are trying to emulate the structure of Finland’s education system.

In Finland, when children turn 7 years old, it is time for basic education. The country doesn’t divide its basic education into elementary and junior highs. Instead, the country offers single-structure education for nine years, 190 days per year.

Most teachers in Finland hold a master’s degree. Even basic teachers are required to hold them. School week has five days. The number of weekly lessons vary, taking into consideration the development phase of children.

In the first two years, children have 19 lessons a week. And it goes up to 30 lessons a week during the last three years of education.
