In 2013, three women that were presumed dead for more than 10 years mysteriously and miraculously were discovered alive.
The three women, two teenage girls and a 20-year old woman were kidnapped on the same stretch of road in Cleveland, Ohio. Ariel Castro, the man who kidnapped them, was charged with four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape.
After he was found guilty, Castro committed suicide in prison. During his trial, he said several times, “I am a normal person”.
Castro kidnapped Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Georgina DeJesus between 2002 and 2004. He kept them captive in his home in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland.
This documentary investigates how the victims could disappear from the same area and be held prisoners in the basement of a nearby house without no-one knowing anything about it for a decade.
