In January 1976 there were reports of a phenomenon. Images showed a bald monkey named Oliver upright, looked like a cross between a human and a chimpanzee, what scientists refer to as a humanzee. Oliver photographs shocked the world, and the media frenzy that followed became an international celebrity. In Japan, the very human-like behavior earned him cult status. In New York, some journalists described it as the missing link. Others called Bigfoot. Oliver was missing from the spotlight and disappeared over time.
Now 30 years later found alive. And with the latest DNA profile, we can finally solve the mystery of the humanzee.
