More than 70 years ago, the United States of America dropped the first atomic bomb. On August 6, 1945, USA dropped a bomb on Hiroshima. Three days later, they bombed another Japanese town, Nagasaki.

Those two are the only atomic bombs every used. Countries have long protested the use of nuclear and atomic weapon. Decades later, controversy still surrounds the nuclear weapon.

But one of the most important question people have is how the atomic bomb works. There is lots of misinformation regarding the atomic bomb.

Simply put, a nuclear weapon is “an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission or a combination of fusion and fission”. No matter which reaction is used, both release enormous amounts of energy from just small amounts of matter.

If you want to go deeper into the nitty-gritty of the atomic bomb, take a look at a detailed step-by-step explanation and guide in this video.
