This is a 2007 documentary that is produced by Suroosh Alvi and Eddy Moretti. They are on a quest of locating the Iraqi a metal band called Acrassicauda in the midst of the Iraq War.
In 2003, the Iraqi heavy metal band Acrassicauda were featured in a magazine article in Vice. With the help of the magazine, they found themselves able to make a show in 2005 that was sold out. Producers from Vice came back to Iraq in 2006 to find the band. Upon their return they found the huge number of death and mayhem, and the music studios were demolished by bombs.
Authentic meetings with the members of the band enable you to see into a sub segment of society saturated with American popular society and the dangers this pulls in. The film was shot more than three years. Shooting areas included Erbil, Baghdad, Lebanon, Beirut, Syria and Damascus. The film was conveyed by VBS TV, a fraction of the Vice.
Amid the shooting it was uncovered that the Syrian government did not approve the visa extension for the band in order for them to remain in Syria, therefore, the movie producers started to raise money in order to move the band in a more secure location, as opposed to going back to Iraq. The band received refugee status in 2009 and was permitted to move to the United States.
