Few years ago, we had a picture of a starving girl from Yemen that completely shocked the world. Last year, that girl died.
And as a society, we still haven’t done a lot about the situation in Africa. The continent has the highest percentage of children with AIDS, orphans, forced to work nine hours a day for seven days a week for pennies, not dollars. Some of them go into prostitution, or suffer other types of slavery.
Growing up in Africa is not easy. On top of that, you have starvation, with people having little resources, and almost no healthy food and clean water. Many NGOs and private institutions are doing what they can to help these children, but we have to do more.
