Future of the Earth

The biological and geological future of the Earth can be extrapolated based upon the estimated effects of several long-term influences.

These include the chemistry at the Earth's surface, the rate of cooling of the planet's interior, the gravitational interactions with other objects in the Solar System, and a steady increase in the Sun's luminosity. Over time intervals of hundreds of millions of years, random celestial events pose a global risk to the biosphere.

This documentary takes you 100 million years into the future and gives you a possible scenario of what Earth might look like. The Earth, as we know it today, is gone. The climate has changed and the continents merged into a single land mass.

This is not a documentary about the potential disastrous event that could wipe out all life on Earth. It is a glimpse into the future of the Earth that is shaped by the nature in the course of many millions of years.
