“Children of Darkness” is a 1983 American narrative film created by Ara Chekmayan and Richard Kotuk. It was assigned for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
It was about physically and mentally challenged kids and youthful grown-ups living in different private and open homes, state establishments, for example, Elan School in Poland, Maine and New York City's open run South Beach psychiatric healing center in Staten Island.
It had interviews with different folks, including ones whose kids passed on under suspicious circumstances while in guardianship and additionally with different staff individuals who work with individuals who will convey their debilitations and sicknesses all their lives, and the staff's consciousness of their powerlessness to cure them.
One of the medications that brought on patient passing in the South Beach healing center is Mesoridazine, which was withdrawn from the United States advertise in 2004 because of perilous heart reactions. The Élan School shut in 2011 because of feedback of its asserted treatment of patients.
