The girl behind the name, that was the idea of the documentary made by Asif Kapadia, a feature documentary about the life of Amy Winehouse, the British singer that died tragically at the age of 27 years in 2011.

In 2015, Kapadia finally released the documentary that was followed by a ton of controversies. For starters, Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse told fans not to see the documentary because it portrayed his daughter in a bad way.

Be as it be, the 2015 documentary was recently awarded an Oscar for best feature documentary. The director, Asif Kapadia, speaking of the documentary said that “It brought out the worst of a lot of people in her life”.

The movie shows some rare footage of Amy performing live. Filled with songs from the singer, the Amy documentary is one way fans can again revive Amy.

The movie is pretty heavy, focusing on the drinking, the drugs, and the bulimia, all of which contributed vastly to the demise of Amy Winehouse. The second part of the movie can be pretty hard to see, but for those who want to experience the pain that Amy went through, the second part is the best part of the movie.
