After Millennials, here comes Generation Z

While everyone is obsessed with Millennials, the generation that doesn’t/can’t leave home, society experts are already exploring what will happen with Generation Z, or the generation born after the Millennials.

Born in the late 1990s and the early 2000s, most of the Generation Z is still in high school or just about to enter college.

The good news about Generation Z is that the generation didn’t have to suffer through economic crisis. Most of the Millennials were adults when the economic crisis in 2000 and 2008 hit the world.

The main characteristics of the Generation Z are hard-working, mindful of the future, conscientious, somewhat anxious, with new social media platforms like Snapchat taking over Facebook.

In episode 1 of the OnOff project, the director focuses on social media trends with the Generation Z.

The questions that the documentary tries to answer is “Do kids really prefer contact through internet rather than direct contact”, “How do they spend their free time”, “What is important for them”, “What are they afraid of” and similar. Spoiler alert: one of their biggest fear is to enter a room without a WiFi.
