Abu Ghraib Prison Tortures

This documentary was released in 2007 and it is looking into the scandalous abuse and torture of prisoners at the Abu Ghraib in 2004. The director of this film is Rory Kennedy and its premiere was on January 19th in 2007 at the Sundance Film Festival.

This documentary also aired on HBO on February 22 in 2007. The Human Rights Watch Film Festival screened this film on March 23 in 2007 and two days later it was screened at the Cleveland International Film Festival.

Working Films used this documentary to coordinate the US national community engagement campaign. It brought together groups such as, the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, faith groups, and a number of other similar groups in order to end the US policy sanctioning torture.

The documentary received several nominations for the prestigious Emmy award at the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards. The film won the Outstanding Non-Fiction Special award.
